Various possible uses of a hybrid bone substitute material made of collagen and ß-TCP (Cerasorb Foam) in the management of extraction defects
Material and method: By mean of various cases different therapy concepts for the management of alveolar ridge defects prior to implantation were presented. The intention of the presentation is to show how to treat the ridge defects after extraction and how to prepare it for a later planned implantation. And also, that the presented techniques can be used to prepare the bone regeneratively and to augment ridge defects before planned implantation.
Conclusion: Based on individual concepts and treatment methods adapted to the clinical situation, both simple and complex alveolar ridge defects can be successfully and regeneratively treated or augmented prior to planned implantation. In optimum cases, even complex two-stage and multi-stage augmentative procedures can be avoided. This reduces the treatment time and the risks for our patients effectively.
