The use of short dental implants in reduced alveolar bone height
Sinus lift and onlay bone grafting are invasive procedures. Due to the risks and morbidity of the procedures, costs and time, patients are reluctant to undergo the surgery.
Short implants have been introduced as a potential alternative to bone graft procedures in patients with limited alveolar bone height.
Learning objectives:
- The objective of this presentation is to introduce a minimally invasive alternative treatment modality to bone grafting and sinus floor elevation.
- Case selection, following the parameters for the use of short implants, is the key long-term success.
