Contemporary Gold Standards in implantology workflow and augmentative surgery: a critical review
The webinars topic is the presentation of CBCT-based implant planning and planning of augmentative bone-surgery which then is performed with advanced Piezotome-surgical instruments. Case presentations on sinuslifting and alveolar crest-splitting accompany the evidence-based critical review.
Successful implant therapy with least risk of short-hand and long-term failure needs proper planning and minimal invasive execution. Most advanced 3D CBCT-technology and software allows precise therapy planning from implant insertion to prosthetic treatment as well as simulation of bone-augmentative procedures. The full digital workflow and virtual simulation of the entire therapy adds safety for the dentist and avoids unpleasant "surprises" for the patient. Once the therapy is approved by the dentist and the patient, especially bone-augmentative procedures need to be executed with least risk and minimal invasive to avoid complications. Lack of proper alveolar crest-width for correct implant placement as well as lack of proper subantral crest-height call for minimal invasive, easy to manage and predictable procedures. Piezotome-surgery - well known for its evidence-based proven advantages over outdated rotary-instrument based surgical techniques - provides easy to learn surgical techniques such as flapless crest-splitting and lateral and transcrestal sinuslifting, which can be executed more predictable and less invasive for faster healing with less patient´s morbidity. The webinar will present a critical review on the basic science accompanied by clinical cases.
