Ceramic veneers: the cementation options
Adhesive dentistry has fundamentally altered and literally transformed our field toward significantly longer-lasting and more esthetic dental restorations.
Not only because the restorations itself are performing well, but mostly because more dental tissues has been preserved. On anterior teeth, veneers are nowadays able to safely replace crowns. Nevertheless, the success and longevity of this treatment option is highly linked to the way veneers are cemented. The quality of the bonding is determined by the procedure itself but also by the materials used. The aim of this presentation is thus to focus on the different veneer cementation options and especially on the use of pre-heated restorative composites.
Learning Objectives:
- develop and use the strategy to predictably isolate the operation field, even in difficult situations
- understand the clinical step by step of the immediate dentin sealing and of the veneer bonding procedures
- choose the proper composite for the proper indication
