An Update in Adhesion Dentistry for 2011
Dr. Nuñez will provide information on the clinical application of these adhesives and review the techniques to use them effectively in the office.
Proper adhesion protocols are also extremely important for intraoral repairs of existing restorations, but the techniques have been complicated with the addition of substrates such as alumina or zirconia. Dr. Suh will review the chemistry of adhesion to indirect substrates and how they work for successful long-term bonding. Dr. Nuñez will then provide a step-by-step technique of intraoral repairs to various substrates that clinicians face in the office.
Learning objectives:
- Learn about a paradigm shift for Total-Etch and Self-Etch adhesives: simplified adhesives with highly crosslinking monomers can be as durable as conventional 2-layer adhesives.
- Understand proper adhesion protocols for different indirect substrates, and when to use what for each one.
- Explore how to maximize predictability when repairing metal, porcelain and zirconia restorations.
