The prevalence of worn dentition in the adult population has been reported to range from 29% to 100%, with approximately 3% of individuals exhibiting severe wear. When patients present with signs of occlusal dysfunction in addition to dental erosion, treatment prognosis can become increasingly unpredictable. These challenges may result in premature restorative failure, patient dissatisfaction, and clinician frustration.
This lecture will highlight the key risk factors associated with treating patients with worn dentition and outline a comprehensive treatment planning approach, along with evidence-based bonding protocols, aimed at minimizing restorative failures and improving long-term clinical outcomes.
