Improving Laser Assisted Endodontics: Tips and Tricks with the Waterlase iPlus
The objectives of the webinar are to present techniques and tips to first time and established users of Waterlase iPlus that will improve their use and increase their confidence during root canal treatment, retreatment, and apical surgery. Fundamental principles and concepts of soft and hard tissue management will also be covered. Participants will learn to use reusable sapphire tips to make incisions for apical surgery and disinfect root end resections. Endodontic access of anterior teeth, management of calcifications in the pulp chamber and canal systems, and laser analgesia for hot teeth will also be covered. The webinar will include a review of intermittent and continuous irrigation techniques during coronal conditioning and canal disinfection.
Waterlase iPlus laser is capable of soft and hard tissue management in endodontic treatment, and it will be discussed in detail. Soft tissue applications related to endodontics include gingivectomy, coagulation, incisions for apical surgery, periapical granuloma/cyst removal, treatment of sinus tracts. Hard tissue applications in endodontics include endodontic access, search and management of calcified canals, enhanced irrigation and disinfection of canal walls and dentinal tubules, laser patency, root resection, apical conditioning, and laser analgesia for hot teeth.
The webinar will describe tips and tricks designed to enhance the operator’s experience and increase their confidence during all modes of endodontic treatment. Protocols for laser analgesia and endodontic access of hot teeth will be discussed. A hybrid approach to accessing teeth with lasers will also be discussed. In addition, apical conditioning and disinfection of the resected root-end using the side firing tip will be shown. Finally, a review and discussion of coronal conditioning and enhanced irrigation and disinfection using continuous and intermittent methods will be presented. Videos and photos will accompany a powerpoint slide presentation.
