Endosteal Implants in the Posterior Mandible: Technique and Placement Considerations
This Live patient program will demonstrate the placement of an endosteal implant on a patient in the mandibular second molar space.
An overview of bone biology, osseointegration and implant design is provided. The clinician describes the anatomical considerations an limitations related to implant placement in the mandible, and will present data on implant survival rates relative to implant diameter in the posterior region.
Lerarning Objectives
- indications and placement considerations for implants
- how to choose the correct implant length and diameter
- radiographic interpretation related to implant placement
- surgical techniques involved in implant placement
