Bassam Hassan is a prosthodontist recognized by the European Prosthodontics Association (EPA) and the Dutch-Flemish Society of Restorative Dentistry (NVVRT), an implant surgeon recognized by the Dutch Society of Oral Implantology (NVOI) and an academic researcher in Digital Implants Prosthodontics. He has published more than 50 articles in cited international journals, co-authored three books on digital dentistry and has presented in more than 100 national and international venues. He has participated in several projects with industry leading corporations and has participated in several international clinical trials. He has a Master degree in dentistry from the University of Amsterdam (ACTA), a Master degree in Medical Imaging and CAD-CAM from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), a Master degree in Prosthodontics from the Medical University of Vienna and a PhD from the University of Amsterdam (ACTA). He worked for three years as a fulltime assistant professor at the department of general and specialized dentistry at ACTA and for three years as an assistant professor at the department of Implantology and Prosthetic Dentistry at ACTA. He is currently employed as a Prosthodontist and as an implant surgeon in a private hospital in Amsterdam and as a visiting professor at the department of Prosthodontics at UCM University. His research interests include digital implants planning, digital occlusion and articulation, integrating multi-modalities (facial, intraoral, CBCT and jaw motion data) for planning complex prosthetic cases and developing digital solutions for dental education.
