Switzerland
Swiss dentists and sisters, Dr. Haley Abivardi) & Dr. Goly Abivardi are the CEOs and founders of vVARDIS.
Internationally renowned innovators and award-winning serial entrepreneurs, they have dedicated most of their lives to improving the oral health of the population.
After studying dentistry at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, Dr. Haley and Dr. Goly Abivardi led a public paediatric dental clinic linked to primary schools to promote prevention in oral health, treating thousands of children, many coming from low-income backgrounds. As dentists and mothers, it was painful for them to see children and adults suffering from general health issues due to poor oral health and infrequent dental check-ups. Mostly, this resulted from fear and anxiety about dental visits or low awareness on the importance of good oral health.
This is why in 2003, they founded Swiss Smile, the first Swiss DSO and the first European fear-free DSO (Dental Services Organization or dental clinic group) in Switzerland and Europe. This innovative concept combined state-of-the-art technologies and techniques with an unprecedented level of comfort and well-being for their patients. For the first time, all specialists could be found under one roof with extended opening hours up until 9pm 7 days a week, with no need for an appointment. Unlike traditional clinics, they reimagined the entire patient experience, putting the emphasis on overall health and wellness and delivering a SPA-like atmosphere as opposed to the one of a dental exam room.
They also run their own Dental Hygienist School supporting the idea that prevention is more effective than treatment.
With this purpose in mind, they founded vVARDIS in 2020, a life-sciences Med-Tech company, offering dentistry the next generation of prevention through its proprietary, disruptive biomimetic technology, fulfilling their vision of a preventive and pain-free future for oral health.
