For decades, oral bacteria have been seen as the enemy, but thanks to emerging evidence, we now know this is not the case. This webinar explores the new thinking and pioneering research which is redefining our view on the oral microbiome.
The mouth houses one of the most diverse microbiomes in the body, with both health- and disease-associated species of bacteria co-existing in the biofilm. Our growing appreciation of the oral microbiome’s ecology points to a new approach to oral health – one of re-establishing a symbiotic equilibrium in the mouth rather than attempting to eliminate all bacteria.
In this webinar, we discuss the importance of a balanced oral microbiome for oral health, and how next-generation sequencing techniques have shown that brushing with an enzyme and protein containing toothpaste can help promote a balanced oral plaque microbiome.
