Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the severely atrophic posterior maxilla.
The rehabilitation of the severely anthropic posterior maxilla poses many challenges to the treating clinician due to its anatomical features. Over the years different surgical techniques have been introduced that are less invasive and more prosthetically driven to help overcome these challenges. An overview of these techniques will be given focusing on sinus lift with immediate implant placement without the use of bone substitutes.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how to do a sinus lift with immediate implant placement.
- Have a short discussion on complementary and alternative therapies for the rehabilitation of the posterior, severely atrophic, maxilla.
