Ultrasonics for Endodontic Access

In this presentation, Dr. Glenn van As discusses the application of ultrasonics in endodontics including various units, tip shapes and designs, and the role of micro-ultrasonics in access refinement, chasing calcified canals, and removal of attached pulp stones

In addition, the use of micro-ultrasonics for the removal of intracanal obstructions, "ultrasonic stirring" of irrigants, removing gutta percha, placement of MTA, and a brief overview of surgical endodontics are discussed.

Alternative uses for ultrasonics in periodontics and restorative dentistry are broached. The presentation will include microscopic videography and photography throughout the lecture. Attendees will leave with a clearer impression of how microscopic ultrasonics can be used to improve the overall treatment outcomes in endodontic therapy.
