A rubber dam creates a dry field that is not contaminated by saliva and other debris during all bonded procedures. It improves access during procedures by retracting the lip, cheek and tongue from the field of operation, it increases efficiency and productivity, and it reduces the time required for treatment. It also increases a patient’s level of comfort and reduces risk of infection.

Course fee: $199.00

According to studies, only 15 percent of dental offices make use of a rubber dam for adhesive procedures. Excuses vary from "it takes too long to place" to “we just use cotton rolls” to "retractors get the same results." Yet with so many new and innovative dams on the market today, dam placement only takes minutes.

In this course, Shannon Pace, DA II will demonstrate rubber dam placement, the advantages and disadvantages of different dams, reasons for using a rubber dam, and why visibility is much better due to the contrast of colors of the dam and the teeth being prepared.
