Understanding adhesives and how to incorporate new advances in dental materials and techniques into your restorative practice

There is considerable confusion for the practitioner when discussing total etch verses self etch adhesives and when to best utilize these different types of adhesive techniques. With the introduction of self etch self adhesive flowable composites and cements the confusion has increased. We will review the different types of adhesives and how to best use these to provide better restorations and improve the quality of our dental treatment.

Upon completion of this lecture the attendees will

  • Understand total etch vs self etch adhesives
  • Understand how and when to use self etch adhesive cements
  • Understand the use of self etch flowable composites and when to use them
