The detection of dental decay must be: scientific, accurate, reliable, and clinically significant. It is an essential part of the caries risk assessment process when examining the patient. The CarieScan PRO is the latest and most accurate diagnostic tool for clinical practice. The CarieScan PRO offers dental professionals (dentists and qualified team members) a predictable, evidence-based technique for the detection and qualitative evaluation of decay in teeth.

The CarieScan provides information about whether the hard tissues are healthy, in the early stages of decay or significantly decayed.  The results are displayed on an easy-to-understand LCD screen as well as in a numeric format. Through the use of proprietary RemoteView software and Bluetooth connection between CarieScan PRO and the office computer, this data is recorded to the patient’s chart for evaluation, monitoring, and long-term assessment of the disease status.

Learning outcomes:

  • To become familiar with the newest and most accurate caries detection technology;
  • To successfully integrate new and inexpensive technologies into the practice;
  • How to incorporate the data into an overall risk assessment of the patient and develop the correct treatment plan.
