PreXion 3-D Dental Scanners are addressing the rapid shift in dentistry from analog-based 2-D film radiography to digital 2-D and 3-D volumetric rendering. With PreXion's fast rendering a full 3 dimensional dataset can be manipulated in every operatory in the dental office within real time.

*This lecture is made available through an educational grant from PreXion, Inc.

From the specialist to the general dentist, cone beam computed tomography is fast becoming the choice for both diagnosis and treatment planning. In many instances, CBCT soon will become the standard of care.

During the webinar we will introduce attendees to Cone Beam Technology in general with comparisons of all current available CBCT units.

We will show a life scan from scanning to processing until images are available to work with. The objective is to learn to use PreXion 3D for general dentistry, Endodontics, Implantology, Oral Surgery, Oral-Maxillofacial-Surgery and Periodontics and show the ease of use of this unit.

The tremendous speed of processing and real time visualization of PreXion 3D Scanners give the doctor more time for diagnosis and treatment planning.

PreXion 3D features include the highest resolution images of any CBCT, based on comparisons of manufacturers' specifications. With 4 different scanning modes and 2 different field of view options PreXion 3D allows to produce best image quality different anatomic structures.

Image reconstruction with PreXion is powered by TeraRecon's Volumn Pro Boards and ist XTrillion processor. A total of 512 / 1024 cone-shaped images are taken in a 360-degree rotation. With the XTrillion processor, approximately 30 seconds are required before the images can be viewed. Since 1997, TeraRecon has built and patented unique solutions for real time rendering and visualization of 3-D data and is a world leader in the field. The tremendous speed of processing and real time visualization of PreXion 3D Scanners give the doctor more time for diagnosis and treatment planning.

Result: PreXion 3D replaces the Panoramic X-ray unti and a lot of current users are also replacing the FMX series most of the time.

Educational Objectives:
  • At the end of the webinar, the participant should be familiar with:
  • the differences between currently available CBCT scanning system
  • the differences between larger and smaller Fields of View and their resolution
  • the diagnostic value for General Dental needs, Periodontology, Oral Surgery, Implantology, and Endodontic treatments
  • providing an interactive learning experience that allows the participant to get familiar with CBCT technology and the unlimited possibilities of software manipulation to provide the best diagnostic value to the patient and confidence for the surgeon or dentist.
Who Should Attend:

Everyone, from the general dentist to the specialist
